🥒🥒🥒Three’s a crowd?!nnCucumber Passandra F1 💚nnOne of my favourite varieties and if you are lucky enough to grow in a greenhouse or polytunnel, this one is a must!nnPassandra F1 is an all female variety, which means it’s been bred in such a way that it only produces the female flower and not the male. This is important as you want to avoid pollination of fruit in greenhouse cucumbers to make sure you don’t get a cucumber full of large hard seed (like a melon).nnI like this one because the fruit are a nice size, not too large while still numerous. This means we can keep up with eating them 😆nnThe plant grows to about a meter and a half and I like to train mine up or along string by twisting the stem around. Good use of space!nnSown in April indoors, kept safe from frost and planted in my no dig beds in the greenhouse in May. Grown using organic methods.nnPassandra F1 is definitely #allotment4life approved ✅nThe most common problem I see that beginner growers struggle with when growing cucumbers is overwatering. They really don’t like to be too soggy around the stem and can easily rot.
